Tool and Blanket Collections

On Mother's Day (Blanket) and Father's Day (Tool) our congregation collects special offerings on behalf of Church World Services to help needy people around the world with supplies to improve their lives.

One Great Hour of Sharing

Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God’s love with people experiencing need. Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find safe refuge, start new lives, and work together to strengthen their families and communities.

The Presbyterian Hunger Program receives 36 percent of undesignated One Great Hour of Sharing gifts, while the Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance each receives 32 percent.

Most congregations receive the offering on Easter Sunday, Palm Sunday, or both, while many receive it throughout Lent. To find out more, go the PCUSA website at:

This offering is received to support peacemaking initiatives and peace education throughout the church. It is recommened that 25% be retained by the congregation ,25% is used by the New Brunswick Presbytery and 50% is allocated to the General Assembly Ministries.

Most churches receive the Offering on World Communion Sunday, the first Sunday in October. This year that falls on October 7.

Joy Offering

On the Sunday before Christmas, the Joy Offering is collected. The receipts from the offering are distributed equally to the board of pensions for assistance programs and to the National Ministries Division of the General Assembly Council to support the eight Presbyterian racial ethnic schools and colleges.
