What is Per Capita Apportionment?

Every church is apportioned a share of the expenses of our church governmental bodies, the Presbytery, the Synod and the General Assembly, much the same way local, state and federal governments are supported by the constituents. The only difference is, taxes are mandatory by law and Per Capita Apportionment is a free will offering of God's people.

Pledges and plate offerings are gifts to futher God's kingdom, including Outreach to others, Worship and Music programs to open our hearts and minds to God's way, Christian Education so our children may grow in faith, Fellowship programs to be in community with one another and for maintainence of the beautiful Building & Grounds in which we worship and participate as a church community.

The Per Capita Apportionment is a separate payment made directly to the Presbytery and not part of our normal operating expenses. This year's Per Capita Apportionment is $21.74 per member and in 2008 our church will be assessed $19,976

Please don't forget the first blue envelope in your pledge box this year. If you don't have a pledge box, please consider giving anyway. If you can give more, please do. And if you can't, not a problem. For as scripture says:

"Each person should give as much as they have decided on their own initiative, not reluctantly or under compulsion"
-2 Corinthians 9:7
